MCGT Annual Mini-Conference ~ Gifted 101 & Beyond
The Minnesota Council for the Gifted and Talented (MCGT) is a state-wide non-profit support and advocacy organization of parents, educators, and other professionals who live or work with gifted children and are interested in their education and well-being.
Join us for our annual mini-conference, a half-day of intense learning, along with an opportunity to talk to other parents, educators, professionals and long-time advocates for gifted children.
When: March 18th, 2017, 9am to 12pm
Where: Edina Community Center, 3rd floor ~ 5701 Normandale Road, Edina, MN 55424. Registration outside of MCGT office, suite 315
Who: All those interested in the topic of giftedness – educators, parents, and other caregivers and professionals welcome!
What: 3 experts will present on topics of vital interest to those who know and care about gifted children:
Andrea Johnson, Psy.D., psychologist, will present on Social and Emotional Needs of Gifted Children.
Loran Meccia, M.Ed., Ed.S., educational consultant and gifted child advocate, will speak on Assessments and School Choice.
Carol Malueg, researcher and educational consultant, will give an overview of Gifted Characteristics and the Myths of Giftedness.
Why: Our mission is to promote better understanding of, and educational services for, gifted and talented children and their families.
