Ways to Donate

Make a tax-deductible monetary contribution.

MCGT is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status, making your donation deductible on your income taxes. And it’s worth checking to see if your employer supports community organizations by matching your contribution to such organizations. It may be a dollar-for-dollar match or it may recognize volunteer activity with a donation. We’d be pleased to fill out their paperwork to verify your contribution to the appropriate agency in your company.

Use the donation form above to make a donation to MCGT’s general fund today!

Donate to the Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund

The Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for gifted and talented youth or parents of gifted & talented children to become members of MCGT or to attend gifted & talented programs. Betty Johnson impacted the lives of so many gifted & talented children and families and the scholarship is designed to honor her tradition of helping families find the right educational options at the right time. If you would like to contribute to this scholarship fund, you can do so in many ways.
1. Designate your United Way contribution through your business organization for MCGT and notify us that you would like the funds to be used for the scholarship.

2. Send a check directly to MCGT with Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund designated on the memo line.

3. Complete the form above and designate your donation to the Betty Johnson scholarship fund.

Give to the Max Day

Give to the Max Day – MCGT

Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by Minnesota Community Foundation and many other organizations committed to helping make our state a better place. That initial spark touched off an outpouring of generosity — $14 million in 24 hours. Since then, Give to the Max Day has become an annual tradition. Every year thousands of organizations and individuals generate donations and excitement for Minnesota causes that are working to improve the quality of life for all Minnesotans. Give to the Max Day has become a national model for giving days.

United Way

Designate MCGT to be a recipient of your United Way Contribution.

Write “MCGT” or “Minnesota Council for the Gifted & Talented” in the appropriate spot on the form; MCGT’s address or tax ID number are not needed. It does need to be MCGT, the state organization, that is designated, not a chapter. United Way knows MCGT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If you want to be identified as the donor, be sure United Way has your OK to give us your name when the check is sent to MCGT; you can do that on either the United Way Pledge Card or on designation card you can request from your company’s United Way Coordinator. Then, let us know that MCGT will be the recipient. When we receive the funds, MCGT will send you an acknowledgment. If you want your contribution split with your chapter, let us know, so when the United Way check arrives we can send it to your chapter.

Thrivent Choice

Thrivent Choice is a member-advised program that allows eligible members to recommend where Thrivent distributes part of its charitable outreach funds each year. MCGT is listed in the Thrivent Choice online catalog.
