Assisting Your Child in Trying Times 

Children who can balance their affect (feelings), behaviors, and cognition (ways of thinking) will be most successful during trying times. Learn how to help your child develop and maintain self-regulatory balance in this ever-changing world.

Dr. Richard M. Cash is an award-winning educator and who has worked in the field of education for more than 30 years. His range of experience includes teaching, curriculum coordination, and program administration. Currently, he is an internationally recognized education consultant (www.nrich.consulting). His consulting work has taken him throughout the United States, as well as into Canada, The Czech Republic, China, Cyprus, England, Indonesia, Kuwait, Mexico, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, and Turkey.

Tips for Supporting and Enhancing Distance Learning

Navigating the changing educational landscape and variety of instructional approaches can be a confusing picture. Learn how to best support your children in learning, particularly in the new world of remote learning experiences. 

Diane Heacox, Ed.D., is a consultant and professional development trainer focusing on strategies to increase learning success for all students. She is professor emerita at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a national and international consultant and professional development trainer to both public and private schools on a variety of topics related to teaching and learning. Dr. Heacox has taught at both elementary and secondary school levels and has served as a gifted education teacher and administrator, as well as an instructional specialist in public education.

The last hour is a question and answer time.

MCGT members who are registered for the mini-conference will have access to Zoom recordings for four months after the event. Access to recordings after the event is not available to Non-members.

MCGT Members: $10

Includes access to event Zoom recordings for four months after the event.

Non-members, $20 per person

Non-members will not have access to the recordings after the event.

Financial assistance is available from the Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund: Families with gifted and talented children should not be restricted in their participation in MCGT activities because of limited funds. Therefore, the MCGT Board will accept requests for financial assistance which would enable families to attend events sponsored by MCGT, such as the annual conference or mini-conferences. MCGT also accepts requests for financial assistance for MCGT membership fees.
