Presenter:  Maria Kennedy, M.Ed.


This presentation focuses on the social-emotional needs of twice-exceptional (2e) students, highlighting the challenges arising from their combination of giftedness and learning differences. We'll discuss practical strategies for parents to create a supportive environment, fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and positive social interactions in their 2e children.



International Educator Maria M. Kennedy is The Director of the Bridges Educational Group. Speaker, author, and advocate Maria has been an educator for over 30 years, teaching students, parents, and teachers how to tap into the strengths of gifted and challenged students. Maria received her B.Ed. and M.Ed. in education from Manchester University and earned Advanced Teacher Status for her ability to develop curriculum and her skills within the classroom. Maria believes that effective educators must continue to learn and grow. With this in mind, she constantly reads and works closely with leading educators in the field of 2E education.

$10 for MCGT members

Financial assistance is available from the Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund: Families with gifted and talented children should not be restricted in their participation in MCGT activities because of limited funds. Therefore, the MCGT Board will accept requests for financial assistance which would enable families to attend events sponsored by MCGT, such as the annual conference or speaker events. MCGT also accepts requests for financial assistance for MCGT membership fees.
