Event is FREE - RSVP's are requested so that we know how much food and other supplies to provide.
Join MCGT for our annual summer picnic at Burnes Park (West Shelter). MCGT Members and Non-Members are welcome to join us, this event is open to all. It's a great opportunity to talk to and connect with other families! MCGT will provide food and family activities, see below for details.
Q: What activities are at Burnes Park (West Shelter)?
A:
- Splash Pad (children must be supervised)
- Playground
- Shelter Picnic Area
- Bathrooms
- Parking (additional parking available at the church across the street)
MCGT will be grilling hamburger, hotdogs and veggie options. Please feel free to bring:
- A side dish/dessert to share
- Reusable plates and silverware for your family, so that we are as environmentally friendly as possible (MCGT will have limited disposable supplies)
- Beverages for your family (MCGT will have water and lemonade dispensers that you can use to fill up your cup).
Recommend, but not required:
- Suntan Lotion
- Bug Spray
- Lawn chairs and/or blankets - there is a lot of grassy area around the shelter
- Swimsuit and Towel for splash pad
- A favorite game to play with new friends
Please share this event with other families that are interested in learning more about MCGT. The annual picnic is a great way to make new friends among the Minnesota community of families of gifted children. There will be an opportunity to join MCGT at the picnic.

By attending the 2024 MCGT Annual Picnic, attendees agree to allow their names, likenesses and images either in audio, photographic or video format, recorded onsite during the picnic to be used by MCGT for educational, promotional, and archival purposes.
