It is never too early to question why a child appears frustrated or dislikes academic tasks. Acquiring help, accommodations, and/or necessary documentation are critical to a successful K - 12 experience, as well as transitions into college and career.
During this session, acquire ways to enhance your gifted and talented child’s executive functioning during middle school and beyond. Specifically, how they can access, process, and express information. Learn methods and strategies to:
- help students to focus, comprehend, and annotate while reading
- take better notes during lectures and videos
- help students organize and get their thoughts written faster with less frustration, even when they can’t write, spell, or type well
- help students become more independent, productive, and successful when doing homework and preparing for exams

Erika Kluge is the owner of THINK with Success and an Assistive Technology (AT) Special Educator. She is a past Recipient of The Minnesota STAR Program’s Awards for Excellence in Assistive Technology. Her experience encompasses all age groups, emphasizing AT to enhance reading, writing, note-taking, study and test prep, and executive function skills. Erika’s passions are educating professionals, parents, and students about AT and technology for academic, career, and life success.

Cost:
$10 for MCGT members
Video Recording is available to MCGT members for four months after the event.
$25 for non-members
Access to recording after the event is not available to non-members.

Financial assistance is available from the Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund: Families with gifted and talented children should not be restricted in their participation in MCGT activities because of limited funds. Therefore, the MCGT Board will accept requests for financial assistance which would enable families to attend events sponsored by MCGT, such as the annual conference or speaker events. MCGT also accepts requests for financial assistance for MCGT membership fees.
