2023 MCGT ANNUAL CONFERENCE



Host and co-sponsor: Capitol Hill Gifted & Talented Magnet School, St. Paul Public Schools


Join MCGT for a day of learning - Adult sessions with G&T professionals while children attend classes with gifted peers! An excellent chance to learn, share, and connect with other G&T people.

Who: All those interested in supporting gifted students – parents, educators, other caregivers and professionals welcome! This is an in-person event, conference sessions are not recorded. 

Children's Program: Kindergarten through seventh grade students whose parent or guardian is attending the conference.  Children's program classes fill up quickly! Register early to get your first choice! More details below.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAM REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. THE CHILDREN'S PROGRAM CANNOT ACCEPT WALK IN REGISTRATIONS.


Educator CEUs will be available.

MCGT Members: $40 per adult

Non-Members: $60 first adult, second adult $40

Children must be pre-registered. The children's program does not accept walk-in registrations. Children's registration closes on October 10th.

Adult Program Schedule:

9:00am - 9:30am  Check-in

9:30am - 10:30am Opening, Annual Member Meeting, and Grounding in Gifted Keynote by Carol Malueg

10:45am - 11:45am Breakout Session I

11:45pm - 12:45pm Lunch

12:45pm - 1:45pm Breakout Session II

Children’s Program
Open only to children of registered adults who attend the conference. Kids in kindergarten through 7th grade must pre-register by October 10, 2023. Walk-ins are not accepted for the children's program. Please indicate your child's first and second class choices on the registration form.

There are no facilities for children younger than kindergarten. Those in 8th grade or older may sign up to be volunteers in various areas of the conference (including assisting teachers in one of the kids’ classes or helping set up and clean up). Volunteer certificates will be provided. Please fill out the teen volunteer form or contact the MCGT office at info@mcgt.net if you are interested.

*Lunch

Lunch orders must be placed by noon Wednesday, October 11th, after that you must provide your own lunch.
Registrants may opt to purchase a boxed lunch 
from Cassie's Deli for an additional $13 per adult/child or they may bring their own lunch. Lunches must be purchased at the time of conference registration. Lunch will not be available for purchase the day of the conference. 

There are 3 lunch options from Cassie's Deli: Turkey Sandwich, Vegetarian Hummus Avocado Wrap, or Gluten Free Chicken Caesar Lettuce Wrap

Boxed lunches includes chips, carrot sticks, cookie, mint, and water.

Gluten Free lunch includes fruit cup, carrot sticks, krispie treat, mint, and water.


Adult Volunteers

We are looking for adult volunteers for a variety of positions at the conference, if you are able to help, please fill out the adult volunteer form


Photo Release

By attending the 2023 MCGT Annual Conference, attendees agree to allow their names, likenesses and images either in audio, photographic or video format, recorded onsite during the conference to be used by MCGT for educational, promotional, and archival purposes.


Financial assistance is available from the Betty Johnson Scholarship Fund: Families with gifted & talented children should not be restricted in their participation in MCGT activities because of limited funds. Therefore, the MCGT Board will accept requests for financial assistance which would enable families to attend events sponsored by MCGT, such as the annual conference or speaker events. MCGT also accepts requests for financial assistance for MCGT membership fees.
