Part 2: MCGT 2026 Advocacy Event
Strategies for Productive and Positive Advocacy
A Collaborative Approach
FREE AND OPEN TO ALL. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Thursday, February 12, 2026
7:00-8:30pm CST via Zoom
Presenters: Katherine Geary and Carol Malueg
You can register for both sessions, or just one session. Part 1 attendance is not required to attend Part 2. These sessions will NOT be recorded. (Click here to go to the registration page for Part 1).
As your child’s learning needs, both successes and challenges, evolve during the school year, our advocacy efforts and strategies need to also evolve. In Session 2 there will be a deeper dive into understanding your child’s learning profile, creating a portfolio for your child, building a “paper trail”, document management, and reviewing your school and district educational options. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions.
We will show you MCGT's Advocacy Toolkit during this session. However, you must be a MCGT Member to access the MCGT Toolkit. Not a member? Join today!
Kathy Geary is the MCGT Advocacy Chair and architect of the Advocacy Toolkit, Carol Malueg is the MCGT Connections Chair and author of The Road to Positive Advocacy for Your Gifted Child, published by Prufrock Press.
